This year Budget was named "working together- reinforcing resilience". Apparently a top secret team at the MoF is normaly in charge of finding the name, this has to then go through a whole chain of persons before it is approved. So if we dissect the phrase it says "working together" is this self evident that such idealistic talk is self defeating, when last we really work together? There were many opportunities to do this but it never happen because of cheap and petty politics.
Imagine the PNC, famous or infamous campaigns of “mo fire, slow fire”, or their damp squib boycott of Carifesta X, which they claim Burnham created, or the shooting up the Ministry of Culture, youth and Sport, or their tacit support for the gangsters that rob and killed innocent people. When will they work together?
Come on Ashni this may not happen in your life time.
And then the other too words, “reinforcing” why we need to reinforce or strengthen resilience. I thought that we had enough that is why we were surviving these PNC onslaughts. And have any body really bother to check what resilience means that is the ability to recover quickly from setbacks. What setbacks are we really talking about when our economy did so well and is projected to grow even more in 2009.
